Donkey Skin (1970) -- This is a strange, charming movie starring Catherine Deneuve as a princess who is being forced to marry her father (Jean Marais). Her hip fairy godmother helps her escape by transforming her into an ugly scullion named Donkey Skin. I really enjoyed all the strange costumes and odd characters that were sprinkled throughout the film. It was also surreal seeing the fairy godmother riding in a helicopter with the king.
The Umbrellas of Cherbourg -- Another gorgeous film starring Catherine Deneuve. I hated the ending, even though it was the right ending.
Tin Man -- Why did it take me so long to watch this film? I had my doubts about it because it was a Sy Fy original mini-series, but I figured I'd check out because I enjoyed their modern version of Alice in Wonderland so much. This movie was a lot better than Alice. Loved the cast. Loved the visuals. Loved Neal McDonough's blue eyes. I hope Red: Werewolf Hunter will be just as good.
Red Riding Trilogy: Each movie was more depressing than the next. The hopelessness of the films really got to me.
The 19th Wife -- I was so disgusted by the fact that Lifetime took the main character from the book and made him straight that I couldn't even finish watching the film. This wasn't just a minor detail in the book! His relationship with Tom was a huge part of the storyline! I can't for the life of me think of one good reason why they would decide to do this. Shame on you Lifetime!
