This blog is only getting around 120 hits a day. Maybe it's time to call it quits. I think Quiddity has run its course. Ugh, but I hate to quit this blog when I've been posting on it for almost ten years. I don't know what to do. Would you keep blogging if you only 120 hits a day? Would it still be worth it to you? Maybe the site counter is wrong.
UPDATE: Screw it! I'm not going to quit. I told myself I'd stick it out at least until Quiddity turned 10, and that's what I'm going to do. However, short of posting topless pictures (actually, that idea might backfire), I don't know how I'm going to get more internet hits. Hmmmm.
UPDATE II: Um, hello readers from Grow-a-brain.
Please Meggan, don't give up, I love your blog!

Don't quit.
Do you mean hits or visits? There is a difference. I use three different sites to check my traffic. None of them ever agree.
Another thing you have to realize is that a lot of people use feed readers that don't show up as visits. Do you know how many subscribers you have?
I guess what I'm saying is that you probably have a lot more readers than you think and I think you should look into that before you give up. I don't know what you use to track visitors so it's hard to tell.
Feel free to contact me.
Besides, your shit is good.

Oh Megg!
There may only be 120 of us, but we LOVE you with the fiery heat of 12,000.
I've found a widget that I use on my blog which shows me exactly where readers have come from (and my average hits languish around the 40s, and that's mainly my Mum).
It's really interesting to see where people are in the world and exactly how they found the site. I would bet your readership really is global, would that make you feel better about it?

I just use the typepad tracker thingie. I'm guessing it only tracks visitors. It's just depressing seeing the average # of visitors getting lower each week.
Thanks for the support, everyone.

You don't know me, I don't know you. I can't remember what drunkard's walk I was on when I stumbled upon your blog. It would be a pity if you stopped - there are just some dark corners of the internets that I'm happy to have you explore so I don't have to!!!
Keep it up, m'dear!

You've got a great blog -- excellent content, updated often, nice format. No. Don't quit. I've added you to my top ten list, not that I'm likely to drive any traffic your way, but every little bit helps.

I'm a faithful and quite new daily reader, now that I've discovered you it'd be sad for me to see you quit blogging!
You're not getting hits from me, as i read your blog through bloglines...
Please go on with the blog! And yeah, we want topless pictures!!!

So many people use feed readers these days, it's hard to tell really. Have you tried Feedburner or something else to try to track the people reading your feed?
Posted by: Joey | July 20, 2008 at 06:22 AM
Megg, I've been checking out your blog regularly since '02, when you linked to my site. Last year I got into RSS feeds, which is how I've been checking out your site -- daily -- for the last however-many-months.
I also have your book blog on RSS.
(Random: once I'm done upgrading my own site, which should be soonish lest I kill myself, that'll have RSS feeds available also.)

Have you considered that your content does not appeal to as many people as you wish? I have owned several businesses, although I wanted all of them to succeed, not all of them did. The free market has spoken.
Not trying to be mean; just honest.

Oh Bugger The Free Market! Do You Enoy Blogging? That's whats important!
Usually Blogs get "picked-up" at random by 3rd parties & promoted (eg In The Media)That seems how it works.......often they are crap..size isnt eveything!
Ive put a link to you in My Blog. Please Carry on!
If it's any consolation, I have been blogging for 7 years+i only average 100 hits per day (mostly from John's Mum too, God Bless Her!)
Regards
Tony.

Here via growabrain. Never heard of ya, but I'll see if anything here trips my trigger.

Nah, stick with it. Keep a blog and someday it'll keep you, and all that. :)
(If it's any consolation, my hit count isn't much better, and 95% of my hits are google searches.)

You're welcome..
And I've been thinking about the same thing many times.
It's nearly as hard to stop as it is to continue

Hi, Megan,
"Only" 120 hits a day? I should live so long. Anyway, I found you via Grow-A-Brain, which I will now bookmark. I'll add you to my blogroll.
I've been finding that very helpful in being "hit." I have a reciprocal policy &mdash if someone puts me on their blogroll, I put them on mine, and all six of my readers rush right over! Just kidding.
Also, social networking sites? Digg, StumbleUpon, and the like? Works for me. Try it!
PS: I was hinting at wanting to be blogrolled by you, but in the event I'll blogroll you, if only because I'm feeling whimsical today. Don't give up!

I tried the boob pictures........now most of my 65 visits are for Paris Hilton Downblouse.
